Robert Rodriguez’s Alita: Battle Angel Gets a Release Date

Anime and manga fans have spent many years watching as fans of American comic books and animation get all their wishes granted at the box office. Everything from Marvel and DC Comics to Transformers and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles get film after film, year after year, while fans of Japanese storytelling often get left out in the lurch. That trend is about to change.

The box office will see an infusion of anime and manga inspired properties adapted for the American cinema for the first time. The titles include Ghost In The Shell, Full Metal Alchemist and of course Alita: Battle Angel. Fans will be excited to know that the Robert Rodriguez-helmed action film not only has the lead role cast, but now an official release date.

How Marvel Comics Split Its Heroes Apart For Civil War II

This weekend marks a lot of milestones for Marvel Comics fans.  Not only is the Captain America: Civil War movie in theaters and already making a big splash at the box office, but a special preview of the upcoming Marvel Civil War II comic book story arc was released on Saturday for the annual national Free Comic Book Day event.

We recently learned that Bruce Banner is making a comeback in the sequel event, interacting with the new Hulk. Marvel mastermind writer and creator Brian Michael Bendis recently dished to The Daily Beast about how they crafted the new Civil War II arc and what decisions went in to deciding which hero would choose each side.
